IBM Logo

Photo of Ralph ChapmanAs the technology partner of the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards, IBM Canada Ltd. is honoured to support this truly Canadian, pre-eminent program—one that honours the lifetime achievement of Canada's performing artists in the fields of theatre, dance, classical music, opera, popular music, film, and broadcasting.

In August 2006, IBM was privileged with the task of creating a Website for the Awards that is well-branded, relevant to Canadians and considered a one-stop information source for the awards, the recipients and the events.

IBM turned to its Innovation Centre, one of the largest Web design studios in Canada where a team of creative professionals, project managers, consultants, technical specialists and industry experts work on some of the hottest Web-based e-business projects in the country today.

The goal of this project was to ensure that the site was user-friendly, easy to navigate, and visually stimulating, and that it included critical details such as recipient information, gala event logistics and how to nominate a performing artist. In just five collaborative weeks, the first phase was complete with an interactive and engaging site worthy of the prestigious award recipients who fill its pages.

But don't just take my word for it. I invite you to explore the site and see first hand the depth and breadth of what it has to offer.

IBM is honoured to support the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards, and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the award recipients for enriching the lives of Canadians. Their passion and commitment serve as an inspiration to us all!

Sincerely,
