Awards Gala program 2010

The Award recipients are celebrated at two other events in the days preceding the Gala.

On the Thursday of the "Gala Weekend", the Speaker of the House of Commons hosts a private luncheon in his Chambers for the Award recipients. After the luncheon, the recipients are introduced in the House of Commons following Question Period. The Speaker then hosts a parliamentary reception for cabinet ministers, MPs from all parties, sponsors and other VIPs from the business and arts communities. The following day, the recipients receive their award medallions from the Governor General at a special Awards ceremony and dinner at Rideau Hall in a warm celebration of Canadian excellence.
