Philippe Baylaucq's NFB credits include the performance film Lodela, recipient of 11 international honours; the co-production A Dream for Kabul; and Un cri au bonheur, where Philippe coordinated the work of 11 filmmakers bringing 21 poems by Quebec writers to life. Philippe also directed Les couleurs du sang, a documentary about his grandfather, painter André Biéler; and Hugo and the Dragon, a musical fable that garnered the Gémeau Award for best children's feature. Chair of the Association des réalisateurs et réalisatrices du Québec (1996-2000) and currently of Les Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal, he received the Lumières Award for his role in advancing Quebec cinema.
