In his 27 years with the NFB, Gerry Flahive has produced some of its most successful documentaries, including Just Watch Me, Project Grizzly, Manufactured Landscapes, and House Calls (Gemini Award, Best Social/Political Documentary). Current projects include the groundbreaking Filmmaker-in-Residence program at Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital; The Dark Years, an animated history of the Great Depression in Canada; and Paris 1919, a documentary based on the best-selling book by Margaret MacMillan. Projects in development include Nixon in China, I Was a Child of Holocaust Survivors, and A Short History of Progress. A frequent contributor to the Globe and Mail, Gerry has also been published in Time, the New York Times and Playback.
